Breaking News: Amari Cooper Receives Heisman Votes
Former Alabama standout earns recognition
Cooper records 6 votes, finishes 210th overall
Amari Cooper, the former wide receiver for the University of Alabama, has received six Heisman Trophy votes, finishing 210th overall in the voting. Cooper played for the Crimson Tide from 2012 to 2014 and was a key member of the team's 2012 BCS National Championship victory.
Cooper's six votes are the most received by an Alabama player since Mark Ingram Jr. finished 12th in the 2009 Heisman Trophy voting. Cooper was a consensus All-American in 2014 and was selected to the NFL Pro Bowl in 2015 and 2016.
The Heisman Trophy is awarded annually to the most outstanding player in college football. The award is voted on by a panel of journalists and former players.
